In addition to being a living historian, Jack is a public speaker at as many as 12 schools each year. He has been a radio guest on 76 shows across the United States. His schedule this year includes:

  1. Why would you write a book showing support for a black man who fought for the South in the Civil War?
  2. What is your position on the current issue about flying the Confederate flag?
  3. Why do you say that 90 percent of Confederate soldiers fought for reasons different than maintaining the right to own slaves?
  4. How many (if any) black confederate soldiers were there?
  5. How have African Americans responded to your book?
  6. What can you tell us about the role women played to support the soldiers during the Civil War?
  7. You say that the reason the Civil War began, and the reason people North and the South fought are two very different things. Why did the war start, and why did they fight?
