Hamlin Conspiracy

Alexander deMoreau’s second challenge is more formidable - - - the Lincoln assassination threat in Baltimore in 1861 is a reality. Gunned down in the streets after the train car in which Lincoln is riding is blown up while being horse drawn between the two stations, Hannibal Hamlin becomes President.

With the Radical Republicans pulling the strings of government and implementing their complete 1860 platform, both the western and southern states secede. The result is a three-way war with dire consequences for the future. Unless deMoreau resolves the war without long term rancor, mutually assured destruction will occur by 1968.

Raising a new Grey Wolf Legion made up of those disaffected by all three countries, deMoreau fails in an attempt to undo the conflict with his guerrilla forces. The solution comes from a series of Civil War baseball games with a slight change in 19th century rules - - - the overhand pitch - - - and a Melungeon fastball pitcher.

A publication date of late 2005 or early 2006 is expected for this second book in The deMoreau Chronicles.
